The police men of Jhenaidah Sadar police station had detained 24 students of various schools and colleges when they were staying outside their educational institutions during the class hours. They were detained from local resorts and other “gossiping spots” in the town between Sunday morning and afternoon. Jhenaidah Sadar police station officer in charge (OC) Sheikh Mohamamd Sohel Rana when contacted said they have been moving to prevent some anti social activities conducted by some youths locally known as Kishore gang so that the tender aged students could not be involved with any crime anyway. Later they were handed over to their respective guardians.
Earlier on June 1 last the police had also detained 60 other students from local parks and their “safe smoking spots”. They were later handed over to their guardians after a fruitful discussion between the guardians and the law enforcing agency men.
The campaign against the Kishore gang will be continued, OC Sheikh Mohamamd Sohel Rana said.
