A police constable was killed after being hit by a truck in Jashore.
The deceased was Akimul Islam 32 son of Moncher Ali of Chatkabaria village of Harinakundu upazila in Jhenaidah. The accident took place at Krishnabati area of Jashore -Benapole highway at around 11 pm yesterday. Police have arrested the driver of the killer truck. The deceased Akimul Islam is the son of Moncher Ali of Chatkabaria village of Harinakundu upazila in Jhenaidah.
He was working in the Jashore Police Superintendent's office. His constable number is 1690. According to Jashore Plice Control Room sources, At around 10:30 PM, Akimul Islam went to Benapole Port Police Station with the official mail. On his way back from there, when Krishnabati reached in front of the primary school next to Lilian Pharmaceutical Company, a truck hit his motorcycle from behind. He fell down and was seriously injured.
Later, Locals rescued and took him to Jashore General Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
