The birthday of poet and dramatist Ovik Osman is today (Friday). He was born on June 28 in 1956 at Boroma under Chandanaish upazila in Chattogram.
Ovik Osman was an activist of Desh Krishti Birodhi Andolon and participated at the Liberation War in 1971.
He was student leader in 1970’s and started his profession as principal of Barama College. Later, he joined Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry and discharged duty as secretary of the organisation for long 30 years.
He contributed at the construction of WTC and played role for expand of small and large industries in Chattogram.
Ovik Osman also discharged his duty as guest lecturer of Dramatics Department of CU and wrote articles on various subject including art and culture. A total of 15 books of him were published so far. He achieved Dramatics Department honor and Chattogram City Corporation Prize for literature. He is working as media advisor of GPH now.
