Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim has said that eradicating poverty from the country is one of the major goals of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The minister made the comment while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of distribution of materials among the beneficiaries of the integrated livestock development project in coastal chars being implemented by the Livestock Department of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock at the Shaheed Omar Farooq Auditorium of Pirojpur Sadar Upazila Parishad on Tuesday.
The minister said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants there will be no poor people in the country, no helpless people, no beggars, no dependent people. Sheikh Hasina wants to make everyone self-reliant. Sheikh Hasina is the Prime Minister to make the poor prosperous. In this regard, the Minister further said that even if a poor person of the country is in a bad condition, the heart of the compassionate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina bleeds. He directed to take up various development projects for the helpless people. He wants to improve the quality of life of the people.
The minister further added that the integrated livestock development project in the coastal char areas of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock will make poor women self-reliant. If there is a government led by Sheikh Hasina in the country, such projects will continue. Pirojpur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Bashir Ahmed presided over the function.
