The Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) has made significant strides in improving sanitation across Bangladesh, constructing 237,000 safely managed twin-pit toilets and installing piped water supply systems in 60,000 homes.
The achievements were highlighted during the 3rd Annual Coordination Meeting at PKSF Bhaban on Thursday in the capital. PKSF Additional Managing Director Dr Md Jashim Uddin emphasised the project's scope, spanning 182 upazilas with participation from 87 Partner organisations (POs).
This effort supports Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG-6), aimed at ensuring clean water and sanitation for all.
Key speakers included World Bank Senior Water & Sanitation Specialist Rokeya Ahmed and PKSF General Manager Md Abdul Matin, who addressed challenges and strategies for effective project implementation. Recognitions were awarded to 20 branches of 11 POs for outstanding contributions.
PKSF issued a notification confirming these developments, undersigned by Assistant General Manager Suhas Shankar Chowdhury, reinforcing the commitment to enhancing sanitation infrastructure nationwide.
