The annual Made by Google event is just around the corner, set for Tuesday, August 13. This year’s keynote promises to unveil a slew of new devices and updates, including the highly anticipated Pixel 9 series, Android 15, and potentially new Pixel accessories.
Pixel 9 unveiling: What to expect
Google has been teasing the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold extensively. Leaks and official previews suggest significant upgrades, including redesigned pill-shaped camera modules and new, high-end specs. The Pixel 9 Pro is expected to come in two sizes: the standard Pro and a larger model, potentially named the Pixel 9 Pro XL, offering an expanded display and enhanced performance.
Enhancements in the Pro models are likely to include improved camera sensors for better image quality and faster charging capabilities. AI will be a central theme, with Google’s Gemini AI integrated into the Pixel 9 series, promising advanced features and a seamless user experience.
Rumours also hint at satellite connectivity for the Pixel 9, allowing users to send texts in areas without traditional network coverage—a feature following in Apple’s footsteps.
Android 15 launch
The Pixel 9 launch is expected to coincide with the rollout of Android 15. The latest OS version, which recently completed its final beta phase, brings improved privacy settings, enhanced camera features, and more advanced image search capabilities. The new software will likely showcase its capabilities on the Pixel 9 series.

Anticipation is also high for the Pixel Watch 3, which may feature a slimmer design, a brighter 2,000-nit display, and support for ultrawideband (UWB) technology. Reports suggest that the new watch could come in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, with potential battery life improvements.
Additionally, a new generation of Pixel Buds Pro is rumoured to be in the works. Expected upgrades include new colour options, slightly larger speaker grilles, and a redesigned case, though the changes are expected to be incremental.
