A unique photo exhibition, inspired by Rabindranath Tagore's renowned novel "Shesher Kobita," is scheduled to debut on Friday, June 28, at 6pm. The event will be held at the Chitrashala Auditorium of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The exhibition aims to narrate stories through photographs, featuring celebrated personalities such as Parambrata Chattopadhyay, a well-known actor from West Bengal, and Dr. Shreya Sen from Bangladesh. Additionally, Bangladeshi actor Shashwta Datta has also contributed to this innovative photostory.
Architect Fouzia Jahan led the project as both the photographer and project leader, supported by creative direction from CF Zaman. The initiative received funding from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and backing from City Bank.
In conjunction with the exhibition, a book launch will introduce related research to the public, emphasizing awareness among younger audiences. The event will be graced by Social Welfare Minister Dr. Dipu Moni as the chief guest, other figures including actor Ferdous Ahmed, City Bank's CEO Mashrur Arefin, Dr. Anima Roy of Jagannath University, and Dr. Ashish Kumar Chakraborty, among others. Minister of State for Culture Nahid Ijaz Khan will preside over the ceremony.
Parambrata Chattopadhyay expressed his enthusiasm, noting the innovative use of still images in this aesthetic endeavor. Dr. Shreya Sen, currently pursuing an MD in forensic medicine, shared her passion for cultural activities and her longstanding admiration for Tagore's works.
Organizers hope the exhibition will revive interest in reading among audiences. Channel i is the media partner for the event.
The exhibition promises to be a cultural highlight, combining literature and photography to celebrate Tagore's timeless legacy.
