A PhD seminar on ‘Isolation, identification, and characterisation of multidrug resistant causative agents of bacillary dysentery’ was held at Islamic University in Kushtia on Sunday.
IU’s Applied Nutrition and Food Technology department organised the seminar at the second floor of Applied Science and Technology building with Prof M Rezaul Karim of the department in the chair. IU Biological Science faculty dean ProfM Abdus Samad addressed the seminar as the chief guest while Applied Nutrition and Food Technology Department Chairman Prof Abul Kashem Tang spoke as special guest.
AFM Aminul Huq, PhD fellow of applied nutrition and food technology department, presented the article under the supervision of Professor Dipak Kumar Paul. More than 50 teachers from different departments including, Prof M Mamunur Rahman, Prof Rezuanul Islam, Prof ATM Mijanur Rahman, attended the programme.
Addressing the seminar, the speakers shed lights on serotyping and molecular characterization of bacillary dysentery causing bacteria and the ways to identify the main reasons behind not to cure from dysentery despite using multidrug.
IU applied nutrition and food technology department Associate Prof M Asad Ud-daula conducted the seminar
