In order to ensure the supply of safe medicine, mobile quotes are operated at the initiative of Munshiganj District Office of the Department of Drug Administration.
The operation was carried out from 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Tuesday in College Road and Tongibari Bazar area of Tongibari upazila. Mobile courts are conducted in pharmacies under the overall supervision of wise Executive Magistrate and AC Land Shahidul Islam.
The offenses under section 18 and 27 of the Drugs Act 1940 are punishable under the offenses of conducting drug business without obtaining drug license, breach of drug license condition and invoice for purchase of drugs not properly stored in pharmacy, operating pharmacy without pharmacist and stockpiling and displaying expired drugs. He fined Messrs. Shariatpur Pharmacy Tk. 7,000, Messrs. Nur Jahan Pharmacy Tk. 5,000, Messrs. Dhali Medical Hall Tk. 10,000, Messrs. Madbar Pharmacy Tk. 10,000 and Messrs. Talukder Medical Hall Tk. 20,000 in College Road and Tongibari Bazar area.
Mahbub Hossain, assistant director of the Department of Drug Administration, said the campaign against unlicensed and unlicensed pharmacists and unlicensed drug sellers was being carried out in the public interest and would continue in the future.
