Peshawar Zalmi signed Bangladesh Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He will play till 26th February according to the contract.
Bangladesh's T20 captain has been taken as the team's 'supplementary reserve pick'. He is supposed to join Peshawar tonight. Peshawar Zalmi also confirmed the news on Twitter.
Shakib was in great form in BPL this time. He spent one of his best times with the bat. He scored 375 runs at a strike rate of 174.41 and an average of 41.66, the third-highest of the tournament so far. There were 3 fifties.
However, Shakib's team Fortune Barisal was eliminated after losing against Rangpur Riders in the eliminator match yesterday.
Meanwhile, England is coming to Bangladesh on February 24 to play three ODIs and T20Is. The series will start on March 1. Shakib is supposed to return to the country before that. Before the England series, Shakib can be played in 5 matches till February 26.
Peshawar will play their first match against Karachi Kings tomorrow [Monday]. Shakib has played two seasons in PSL so far.
The all-rounder also played for Peshawar in 2017. He earlier, played for Karachi Kings. He has played 13 matches so far. Besides scoring 180 runs at a 107.14 strike rate and 16.36 average, he took 8 wickets in this tournament.
