Dr Abdul Malek, the Chief Information Commissioner, stresses the value of upholding the public's right to information during a training session on Wednesday in the Manikganj district.
As the chief guest, Dr. Malek stressed the need to avoid undermining this right and asserted that the administration is obligated to provide information upon request from the people.
Information is public property, according to Dr. Abdul Malek, who also emphasised that websites should be updated on a regular basis to guarantee accuracy.
As a special guest, Information Commissioner Shahidul Alam Jhinuk gave a speech at the workshop. Rachana Akther, the deputy commissioner for Manikganj, presided over the gathering, which was attended by representatives of several departments, members of the district committee in charge of enforcing the Right to Information Act, members of the public, journalists, educators, representatives of non-governmental organisations, and people from a range of backgrounds.
Additionally, the Chief Information Commissioner served as the chief guest at a similar training workshop on the Right to Information Act, 2009, in Dhamrai Upazila on Wednesday.
