Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Najmul Hasan Papon said on Saturday that he was happy to see new faces taking part in the BCB election slated to take place on October 6.
BCB president bought nomination papers for the post of BCB president for the third time in a row. He was waiting for a contest in the election and expressed his joy seeing new faces in the election.
“I am really happy. I saw it on TV yesterday. I saw that there are many new faces. I came here and got to see some new faces. I am very happy to see it. This is what I wanted in the election. Let new people come,” he said.
BCB elections will be held in three categories. In the first category, 12 directors were selected from the club. In another category, 10 divisional directors were elected by the votes by district councilors.
In the third category, one was elected by the votes of former cricketers, universities, boards of education and government agencies. Minhajul Abedin Nannu, Rajin Saleh and ShahriarNafis are competing from this category.
Renowned coach Nazmul Abedin Fahim is also competing with Khaled Mahmud for game development. The BKSP cricket adviser bought his form from the BCB on Saturday.
