Composer and music director Zahid Bashar Pankaj brought international fame to Bangladesh in music. Zahid Bashar Pankaj’s song ‘Selfless Love’ has won the tenth place in an international theme song competition.
He made the announcement at a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity on Saturday (October 17th).
Competitors from 100 countries of the world including Bangladesh were invited to participate in the theme song competition organized by international Watercolor Society.
Zahid Bashar Pankaj’s song ‘Selfless Love’ won the tenth place in the judgment of the jury board.
A total of ten winners were announced from Hong Kong, US, Bulgaria, Bolivia, Ukraine, Turkey-UK and Bangladesh.
The lyrics, melody and music of the song have been arranged by Zahid Bashar Pankaj himself.
Sunny Zubair and Abid Anwar from Bangladesh served as honorary members of the jury panel. However, there is no rule for judges to vote for their country’s contestants in this contest.
He said, “I want to thank the Honourable President of IWS Globe Atanur Dogan, IWS Music Coordinator Rasim Duran, Country Head IWS Bangladesh Kauser Hossain Masud, Events Coordinator IWS Bangladesh Jhumi Rahman, Honourable Juries from Bangladesh Abid Anwar and Swani Zubayeer all the honourable juries of the competition. Also, my compliments to all the members of IWS 110 branches of 100 different countries all over the world.”
Zahid Bashar Pankaj has been a successful composer and music director in the country’s music scene for two decades. Many of his works have been commercially successful.
