On the first day of the Raisina Dialogue, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology of Bangladesh, exchanged greetings with the Speaker of Maldives and former President of Maldives Mohamed Nasheed. Palak also exchanged views with Maldives Environment, Climate Change and Technology Minister Mrs Aminath Shauna, Norwegian Foreign Minister Aniken Whitfeld and Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla.
During the talk, Zunaid Ahmed Palak briefed Norwegian Foreign Minister Aniken Whitfeld on the success of Digital Bangladesh and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's plan for Smart Bangladesh 2021. On the basis of friendly relations, Norway assured ICT cooperation to Bangladesh. The Speaker of the Maldives lauded the progress made by all sectors of Bangladesh, including the ICT sector, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. At the end of the state ministerial meeting, the ICT department handed out ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib’s 7th March Speech: Epic of Politics’. The Overseas Research Foundation (ORS) and the Indian Ministry of External Affairs have jointly organized the Indian geopolitical conference. The theme of this year's conference is "The New Normal: Multi- lateralism with Multi-Polarity". In the afternoon, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the second edition of 'Raisina Dialogue'.
At the beginning of the conference, the Indian Minister of State for External Affairs M. J. Akbar, Foreign Minister of Nepal Prakash Sharan Mahat, Former President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai, Former Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd and Bangladeshi Prime Minister’s Foreign Advisor Gowher Rizvi.
The Raisina talks began on Tuesday in the Indian capital, New Delhi, with the participation of private sector chief executives and local government officials. The conference will have bilateral meetings with 12 countries.
