Electricity from Rampal and Payra thermal power plants was connected to the national grid on Thursday afternoon through the electric tower constructed at Padma under the Padma bridge project.
On Thursday afternoon, the Payra thermal power plant was experimentally connected to Dhaka's Aminbazar grid. From Payra and Rampal Thermal Power Stations through Gopalganj to Padma River, 7 electric tower and transmission lines are connected to the national grid at the Aminbazar grid substation. Which is a breakthrough chapter in the electricity sector of the country. Padma Bridge has brought revolutionary changes in communication and the electricity sector.
The electricity generated by Ruppur nuclear power plant can be connected to the national grid through the Gopalganj grid substation in the same way across the Padma River. This grid platform sits at least 139 meters deep at the bottom of the river, under the Padma Bridge. The tower's platform sits on 36 piles up to 10 meters deep. From this platform, completed last June. The transmission line with a 26-meter-high tower was completed in the month of victory. The river's distance from one tower to another is 839; 30 meters.
This transmission line crossing 9.4 km Padma has taken the national grid to an extraordinary height pleasing everyone in the process. Dhaka Khulna backbone 400 KV transmission line 2 km downstream of Padma Bridge will radically change the country's economy.
Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) Chief Engineer Morshed Alam Khan said Dhaka-Khulna 400 KV through 2 km of Padma Bridge.
He added that this transmission line would bring success to the country's economy. He also mentioned an 839KV double circuit line of 82 and a half kilometres from Aminbazar to Gopalganj through Mawa, which has been extended another 96 km to Mongla. The project has cost more than two and a half thousand crore takas.
And under this Padma Bridge project, the construction of 7 platforms has cost about 639; 70 crore takas. He further added that a 3 thousand 639; megawatt electricity
transmission would be possible on this line.
