Deputy Minister for Water Resources A K M Enamul Hoque Shameem said the Padma Bridge is a symbol of the capability of Bangladesh and the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. This bridge is one of the brightest milestones in our struggle for economic liberation. Ignoring hundreds of obstacles with ashes in the face of the enemy, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has enhanced the dignity of Bangladesh by building the Padma Bridge with her own funds. She has proved that nothing is impossible.
The deputy minister said this at a caucus meeting on the occasion of inauguration of Padma Bridge on June 25 virtually from Dhaka with Shariatpur district administration on Monday.
Deputy Minister A K M Enamul Hoque Shameem said the dream Padma Bridge is going to be inaugurated on June 25. After Padma, people from 21 districts of the southern region will gather and celebrate. It is our responsibility to make this mass flow successful. People of all walks of life will be present on the banks of Padma to express their gratitude to Prime Minister. Because in the end the Padma bridge, the dream of Bengalis, is going to be launched. This is certainly not just a steel structure, the Padma Bridge is the name of our passion. Another name for national pride and courage. Symbol of ability. The struggling people of Bangladesh are watching this symbol of our self-reliance with great interest.
A K M Enamul Hoque Shameem said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina are both people of South Bengal. Like her father, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also understands the misery of the people of this region. So on July 4, 2001, Mawa officially laid the foundation stone of the bridge near the ferry terminal. But the construction of the bridge came to a halt due to the political inferiority of the BNP. But the leaders of the party are going crazy.
He said that the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is also a visionary leader like Bangabandhu. She not only dreamed of a bridge over the river Padma but also wanted to see it come true. That dream is now real. By building the Padma on her own, Sheikh Hasina has created a new record in the world. She has proved that it is a symbol of ability of Bangladesh.
