A five-member delegation of the officials and consultants involved in the much-hyped Padma Bridge construction on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office in the capital.
During the meeting, they apprised the premier of the Padma Bridge’s technical issues, PM’s Deputy Press Secretary KM Shakhawat Moon told newsmen in a briefing after the call on. The premier greeted the delegation members for their dedication, sincirity and professionalism while working to construct the Padma Bridge. The delegates also highly praised the Prime Minister for extending all the required supports to build the Padma Bridge.
The delegation members told the premier that the lowest amount of money was spent in the construction of the Padma Bridge over a mighty river while the highest standard was maintained and the lifetime of the bride will be 100 years.

“We will share the experience of Padma Bridge construction and its building technology with other countries of the world,” Moon quoted the delegation members as saying
The delegation members were Project Manager and Supervision Consultant of the Padma Bridge Robert John Aves, Leader of the Management Consultant Team Michel King, Project Director of the Padma Bridge Project Shafiqul Islam and consultants Prof. Shamimuzzaman Basunia and Prof. Ainun Nishat.
Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam, PM's Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus and PMO Senior Secretary Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah were present.
