Padakhep triumphs with double win

Padakhep has won two awards at the SDG Brand Champion Awards 2024. The ceremony, hosted by the Bangladesh Brand Forum, recognised Padakhep for its achievements in sustainable practices.

The awards, presented by Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, and the Ministry of Water Resources, were for: 1. Responsible Consumption and Production: Soap Production from Recycled Burn Oil—A Green Perspective, and 2. Strengthening Environment-Friendly Micro-Enterprise: Salt Processing and Trade.

The SDG Brand Champion Awards 2024 highlighted 39 innovative sustainability initiatives. These awards celebrate organisations making significant contributions to various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Responsible Consumption and Production and Climate Action.

Founded in 1986 in a remote Barisal village, Padakhep Manabik Unnayan Kendra has focused on improving the lives of disadvantaged women and children through a holistic approach. 

The organization works across sectors like education, healthcare, microfinance, and agriculture. With over 250 branches, 3,500 employees, and a reach of 50 million people, Padakhep continues to make significant strides in socio-economic development nationwide.
