The 18th Teacher Registration Written Exam concluded on July 13 with a significant number of candidates not appearing for the test despite passing the preliminary round.
Over the course of July 12 and 13, the exam took place across eight divisional cities.
A total of 4,79,083 candidates had qualified from the preliminary round to participate in the two-day written exam.
However, only 3,48,895 candidates actually appeared for the exam.
This means that 1,30,188 candidates did not show up. Additionally, 9 individuals were expelled due to malpractice during the exam.
For the college level exam, out of 2,28,813 eligible candidates, 1,62,179 attended, marking a 70% attendance rate.
At the school level and school-II level exam, out of 2,51,170 eligible candidates, 1,86,716 attended, with a 74.36% attendance rate. Reasons for absenteeism included floods in Sylhet and northern districts and heavy rain on the day of the school level exam.
Deputy Secretary Abdur Rahman from the Private Teachers Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) commented that despite the weather challenges, the exam was conducted fairly and without incident.
The results of the preliminary exam, released on May 15, saw a total of 4,79,981 candidates passing. Among them, 2,21,652 passed at the school level, 29,516 at the school-II level, and 2,28,813 at the college level.
The NTRCA urged candidates to stay informed about future announcements related to the exam process.
