BGB members of Battalion-58 recovered two kilograms and 210 grams of smuggled gold ornaments worth about Tk 62 lakh 28 thousand from village Singnagar in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga on Monday evening (January 27).
Najrul Islam Khan, AD of BGB-58 battalion, said member of Rajapur BOP carried out a raid at the area. Sensing the presence of BGB members, the paddler fled away leaving his bag. After searching the bag, gold ornaments were recovered.
A case was filed with Jibannagar police station. The seized ornaments were submitted to custom and excise department.
