A mobile court has sentenced a young man named Maksudul Alam to six months in jail for teasing a 10th class student (15) in Noakhali's Begumganj Upazila's Chayani Union.
Kamrul Hossain Chowdhury, executive magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (land) of the mobile court in Begumganj upazila, handed down the sentence on Friday afternoon.
According to the officials, Maksudul Alam of Jahanabad village in Chayani union had been harassing a schoolgirl for a long time. He also used to go to the student's house and harass her.
The executive magistrate said police raided and arrested Maksudul on Friday morning after receiving a written complaint from the victim student.
Later in the afternoon, he was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment by a mobile court. The convicted accused has been sent to jail.
