One more person has been died from dengue fever across the country during the last 24 hours till Saturday morning, raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 1,703 this year.
The death was reported in the capital. According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), some 72 patients were hospitalised with viral fever during this period.
Among the new patients, 32 were admitted to the hospital in the capital and 40 were outside it. Some 734 patients are currently receiving treatment from different hospitals across the country. As many as 3,21,073 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country this year and 3,18,636 out of the hospitalised patients, however, recovered during the period. The country recorded 281 dengue deaths in 2022, the highest on record after the 179 deaths recorded in 2019. Additionally, the DGHS recorded 62,423 dengue cases and 61,971 recoveries last year.
