A young man named Nuru Uddin (35) was killed in a rival clash between two parties over a trivial incident at Itna upazila in Kishoreganj.
The incident took place at Amirganj under Mriga union at Itna Upazila on Sunday morning (June 21).
The deceased was identified as Nuru Uddin, son of Suruj Miah of Gandamara Shantipur village under the same union.
According to the police and locals, Sahab Uddin and Monaim Khan had a quarrel in the morning over a trivial incident. At one stage of the quarrel, suppporters of the two sides clashed over domestic weapons.
At that time, Sahab Uddin's nephew Nuru Uddin died on the spot when a spear was stuck in his stomach.
At leader 25 people from both sides were injured in the incident. One of the seriously injured was sent to Kishoreganj 250-bed General Hospital.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Itna Police Station Murshed Zaman confirmed the matter. He said that the situation was under control and police had been deployed on the spot.
