Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in an anti-crime drive, arrested an alleged top-listed firearms trader with two firearms in Naogaon on Saturday night.
RAB sources said the arrested person was identified as Shahidul Islam, 28, son of Rabu Ali, a resident of South Islampur village under Gomostapur Upazila in Chapainawabganj district.

On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in Mirat village under Raninagar upazila in Naogaon district around 7.30 pm and arrested the person red-handed with two guns. The RAB team detained the person for his long-term involvement in firearms trading and trafficking.
A case was filed with Raninagar Police Station in this connection and the arrested person along with the seized firearms was handed over to police on Sunday morning.
