Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-12 in a drive detained a drug peddler with 3,050 pieces contraband yaba pills from Nakla Bazar area of Sherpur on Tuesday.
The detainee was identified as Nure Alom, son of Sultan Alom hailed from Mohila College Para village under Rowmari upazila of Kurigram district.
According to RAB, acting on a tip-off, members of RAB-12 conducted a drive in Nakla Bazar area and detained Nure Alom. At that time, they recovered 3050 pieces of contraband yaba pills, 2 mobile phones and 3 SIM from his body. Later, Nure Alom was handed over to Nakla Police Station. A case was filed with Nakla Police Station in this connection. Assistant Police Super of RAB-12, Pabna Md Aminul Kabir confirmed the matter.
