Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in an anti-crime drive arrested an alleged drug peddler with 1.97 kilograms of heroin from Godagari upazila of Rajsahi district last night.
RAB sources here said on Monday afternoon the arrested person was Selim Reja, 42, son of late Rafiqul Islam of Joragachhi Bottola area in Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in Basudevpur Sluice Gate area at around 7.45 pm and arrested Selim Reja with the huge heroin, the RAB sources added.

Later, the arrested person along with the seized heroin was handed over to the police on Monday afternoon.
A case was recorded with Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station in this connection.
