One person died and a minor boy is still missing due to a boat capsized on Tuesday morning at Dhanu River in Itna Upazila. Rangmahal Begum (50), wife of Abdul Salak of village Dhaki Munsihat was found dead after rescuing and a minor boy Robin (3), son of Sohag Mia of village Charpara under Mithamoin Upazila of the district has not been found yet. Other passenger saved their lives by swimming.
Local sources said, the boat left Charpara village of Dhaki union of Mithamin upazila for Chamta ghat of Karimganj upazila.
The trawler with more than half a hundred passengers sank while carrying rice husks. Suddenly the boat drowns at Elongjuri Bazar ghat.
Officer-in-Charge Inta Police Station Kamrul Islam Mollah confirmed the news.
