Airport Armed Police Battalion (AAPBn) members today detained one with 2,000 yaba tablets from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area, reports BSS.
The detainee Md Nur Ahammed, 36, was held from outer area of the domestic terminal of the airport at around 9 am.
Confirming the news to reporters AAPBn additional superintendant of police (operations and media) Alamgir Hossain said his men challenged Ahammed as he was seen walking suspiciously in the area.
“In the primary interrogation he confessed carrying the drugs and later we found the yaba tablets, worth around Taka 10 lakh, hidden inside his clothes. Ahammed said he was carrying the drugs for one Ronti here in the capital,” AAPBn ASP said.
Ahammed is son of later Ismail of village Palankhali under Ukhia Police Station in Cox’s Bazar.
Filing of case is underway in this regard.
