The policemen throughout the country have been furnishing duty with humanitarian ground when the country men were caught in the global pandemic corona virus. The police head Dr. Benazir Ahmed had advised the police personnel to discharge duty and responsibility with humanity considering the havoc to stand by the people.
A police officer in Jhenaidah had set an example rescuing a mentally retarded as well as hungry elderly woman on Wednesday night. The rescued woman, claiming herself as Shobha Rani Das, 56, daughter of Tarok Chandar Das of Giletala of Rampal upazila in Khulna. Jhenaidah police station officer in charge (investigation) Emdadul Haque said he was informed that an elderly woman was staying on the ground floor of an under construction six-storied building owned by Mahmud Hasan Alif at Bhutiargati area in the town. He along with the fire fighters rushed the spot and rescued the unconscious woman at about 7.30 pm. Later the emergency medical officer (EMO) admitted her at the medicine (female) ward of Jhenaidah Sadar hospital.
EMO of Jhenaidah Sadar hospital Dr. Nurjahan Begum said the woman was so weak and hungry for a couple of days, as well as she seems to a mentally retarded woman. Now she has been trying to recall her memory.
