OC among 4 get life for killing FF Abdul Barik

The Jamalpur Special Judge Court gave life to four people in the case of the sensational freedom fighter Abdul Barik murder in Jamalpur.

On Tuesday afternoon, judge of Jamalpur Special Judge Court Mohammad Abu Taher convicted Jamalpur Railway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Gauchandra, Constable Tapan Barua, TC Anisur Rahman and ASI Sohrab in the murder case of brave freedom fighter Abdul Barik under Section 302/34 and sentenced each to life imprisonment, and fined Rs 50,000 in default to suffer  3 months more in jail.

It is to be noted that on July 11, 2016, the brave freedom fighter Abdul Barik died in Mymensingh Combined Military Hospital (CMH) after being beaten and injured in Jamalpur Railway Station platform area. Later, his elder son Mizanur Rahman Mukul filed a murder case against 4 persons including Jamalpur Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Gowchandra. The other accused are -- Constable Tapan Barua, TC Anisur Rahman and ASI Sohrab.

Later, after reviewing the CCTV footage of Jamalpur railway station and the testimony of eyewitnesses, the judge of the Jamalpur Special Judge Court, Mohammad Abu Taher, announced the judgment of the

 sensational case in presence of the defendants.

Advocate Nurul Karim Chotan, Advocate Jahangir Alam and Advocate Aman Ullah Akash stood for the state.
