Obligation of RT-PCR for coronavirus test to enter Bangladesh has been relaxed. The government has lifted the obligation of PCR test for those who have already taken full dose of coronavirus vaccine.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangaldesh (CAAB) confirmed this in a circular on Tuesday.
According to the circular, those who enter Bangladesh with the full dose of Covid-19 vaccine approved by the World Health Organization do not have to undergo RT PCR test separately. However, in this case, proof of vaccination must be produced at the airport.
And those who have not received the full dose of the vaccine must complete the RT-PCR test within 72 hours of entering the country. In this case, they have to show the coronavirus negative certificate. However, there is no need to take any test for children below 12 years.
CAAB further said that if any of the passengers who have been vaccinated or not, if they show any signs or symptoms of coronavirus, the airport authorities will take them to the hospital for coronavirus test. If the symptoms are positive in the test, s/he will have to stay in isolation for seven days in a government-designated hotel at their own expense.
The circular has asked the expatriates to follow the latest guidelines of the respective countries. In addition to this, some instructions have been given to the airlines regarding the transport of passengers on the aircraft of Narrow Body.
