Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder has mentioned that objective news coverage plays an important role in taking the country forward. He also mentioned that the media is a partner of many great achievements of this country.
He said this at a function at Naogaon Press Club on Friday.
The Food Minister said ATN Bangla, the country's first satellite television channel, has been playing a commendable role in bringing the culture of Bangladesh to the Bengali-speaking people all over the world. At the same time, he wished success to ATN Bangla and called for the promotion of objective news and programs.
He added that the role of the media is more significant in the current global context. Due to the war in Ukraine and Russia, the prices of various commodities including food and fuel are increasing. This is creating various problems in different countries of the world. He called on the media to play a strong role in making people aware of the problems caused by the Ukraine war.
President of Naogaon District Press Club and District Representative of Channel I Kayes Uddin presided over the function. Bengal District Representative Raihan Kabir spoke on the occasion.
Later, the food minister inaugurated the program by cutting a cake on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of ATN Bangla. Earlier, a colorful rally marched around the city. Besides, representatives of various media were present at the founding anniversary program. It may be mentioned that the channel started its journey on 15 July 1997.
