M Shamsul Alam, Former Chairman of Shadharan Bima Corporation and Jibon Bima Corporation died at about at 6:00 am on Wednesday (May 20) at the age of 83.
Born in Madpur of Pabna, Shamsul Alam joined the then Pakistan Insurance Corporation in 1960 after completing his Masters degree. He was one of the major figures in shaping the insurance sector since inception of Bangladesh.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the insurance sector of the country, Mr Shamsul Alam was awarded the Bima Padak by the Honorable Prime Minister on 1st March 2020.
Mr Alam’s death is mourned by thousands of well wishers, friends and family members. His wife Chobi Alam, daughters Samira Alam, Sadia Alam , Shakera Alam Talpur , sons in law, Joy Samad, Asanka Kinigama and Mir Faisal Talpur, his two loving grandsons, Ayaan and Arvin solicit your prayers for his eternal peace in heaven.
