The tri-annual council-2020 of Tungipara upazila Awami League was held peacefully amidst festivity at Tungipara Helipad in Gopalganj on Thursday. Bangladesh Awami League’s GS and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader attended the council as the chief guest.
Acting President of Upazila AL unit Md Ilias Hossain presided the event while General Secretary of Upazila AL unit Sheikh Abul Bashar Khayer hosted it.
Member of Bangladesh AL’s Advisor Council Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, Sheikh Helal Uddin MP, Joint General Secretary Agriculturalist AFM Bahauddin Nasim, State Minister for Religious Affairs Alhaj Sheikh Md Abdullah, Sheikh Salahuddin Jewel MP, Organizing Secretary of AL Mirza Azam MP and SM Kamal Hossain were present at the time as special guests among others.
Earlier in the morning Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader along with other central AL leaders paid tribute to Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his grave in Tungipara of Gopalganj. After that, he inaugurated the upazila AL council by releasing pigeons and balloons in the air.
