Despite the corona pandemic, probable candidates from different major political parties especially Awami League and BNP have started moving from door to door seeking supports including votes and Doa centering the upcoming by-polls in Naogoan-6 constituency scheduled to be held on October 17.

Due to his good will in the area, he was victim of several attacks by the opposite party men. As per example, miscreants threw a crude bomb targeting him on November 14 in 2006, while he went to offer Esha prayers at a mosque in Damdattabaria area. By the grace of Almighty Allah, he was saved, but his elderly uncle named Momin Uddin Sarder, who received serious injuries in the attack, died at hospital while ongoing treatment.
Local Awami League leaders and activists said, Nur-e-Alam sought nomination from Awami League as a sacrificial leader. But, high-ups declined to give him nomination. As a result, he has now decided to contest as independent candidate in the polls.

Local voters eager to elect him as parliament member for the upcoming by polls so that he can keep contributions in development of the local area.
