At least 10 students of National University (NU) have been taken into custody while hundreds of them were staging a protest at Shahbagh More on Thursday, opposing the decision of postponing their ongoing examinations.
Following communication at social platforms, they started gathering in Shahbag before noon to place their demands. Later, the agitated students moved to Dhaka University campus and held a protest rally.
Then, at around 2 pm they left DU campus announcing a 72 hours ultimatum for the authority to take their exam in time.
Following the announcement by Education Minister Dipu Moni on Monday, the National University authorities declared that their ongoing examinations would be postponed until May 24.
In another region, students of Home Economics College affiliated with Dhaka University blocked the Nilkhet-Azimpur road demanding to sit for exams. After a while, law enforcers forced them to get off the street.
