North South University’s Finance Club recently wrapped up "UCB Stock Broking Presents Excel 2024," the nation’s largest Microsoft Excel-focused competition. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their technical expertise and critical thinking using advanced Excel tools.
Over 300 participants tackled practical Excel challenges in the first round, with the top 50 moving on to solve complex case studies in the second round. The final round highlighted the top 10 contestants, with the top three awarded cash prizes of Tk 25,000, Tk 15,000, and Tk 10,000, along with certificates and a crest from North South University’s Department of Accounting and Finance.
Key figures present at the event included Prof Tamjid Ahmed Chowdhury, Acting Dean of the School of Business and Economics, who chaired the event; Syed Adnan Huda, COO of UCB Stock Broking Limited, as the chief guest; and the Chair of NSU’s Department of Finance and Accounting as the guest of honour. Faculty Advisor Md. Nurul Kabir and Senior Lecturer Muhammad Nasiruddin also attended.
Excelsior 2024 offered students a valuable learning experience, honing both their Excel skills and analytical capabilities while rewarding their achievements.
