Saif Uddin, a student of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) died at the Corona unit of Mugda Hospital in the capital on Wednesday.
Saif was a student of session 2017-18 in the Institute of Information Science. Saif's hometown is in Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali.
When Saif was infected with Covid-19, he was transferred to Mugda Hospital for better treatment. Before getting admitted into Mugda Hospital, Saif was undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University as both of his kidneys were damaged.
NSTU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Didar-ul-Alam expressed grief over Saif's death. In a condolence message, the VC conveyed his condolences to Saif’s bereaved family on behalf of NSTU teachers, students and officials.
