Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) will resume academic activities, including classes and examinations, on September 8 (Sunday) after a long closure. Acting Registrar Tamzid Hossain confirmed the news on Monday.

According to a notification from the Registrar's office, the university's academic activities will start with the approval of the authorities. It was also mentioned that the residential halls have already reopened, and resident students have been asked to return to their halls promptly.

The decision to resume academic activities was made in a meeting held at 11 a.m., chaired by the university’s new administrative and financial chief, Professor Dr. Shafiqul Islam. The meeting included deans, department chairpersons, and institute directors. After about two hours of discussion, it was decided to restart academic operations.

Professor Dr. Shafiqul Islam stated that each department would discuss with students regarding exams and make necessary decisions. He also mentioned that students facing issues like withheld results, delayed certificates, or job-related concerns due to pending defenses or vivas can contact their respective departments this week to complete the necessary requirements.

The university administration has urged students and faculty members to prepare for the upcoming academic schedule. Faculty members have been requested to communicate with their students and ensure a smooth

transition back to regular academic activities.

NUST's decision to reopen marks a significant step towards normalcy, and the university community is hopeful for a successful resumption of classes and exams.
