‘Noy Number Bipod Sanket’ on Humayun Ahmed’s birth anniv

Celebrating the birth anniversary of the legendary Bangladeshi novelist, dramatist, screenwriter, filmmaker, songwriter, scholar, and academic Humayun Ahmed (13 November 1948 – 19 July 2012), Channel i will air his blockbuster movie ‘Noy Number Bipod Sanket’ today at 5 pm.

Humayun Ahmed made the comedy-drama movie ‘Noy Number Bipod Sanket’ (Danger Signal Number Nine) in 2007. The movie depicts the story of an old landlord who wants to spend his last days with his family, but they don't want to come to his place, so he mimics his own death to bring them.

The movie features Rahmat Ali, Challenger, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Shadhin Khosru, Tania Ahmed, Rupok Talukder, Shabnam Parvin, Maznun Mizan, and Diti in lead roles. The movie was filmed in Nuhash Polli.

In addition, other special programmes scheduled to be aired on Channel i on November 13 include musical show ‘Gaan Diye Shuru’ at 7am, live telecast of Humayun Mela at 3:05 pm and a special tele-drama titled ‘Ami Humayun Ahmed Hote Chai’ at 9:35 pm. The tele-drama is written by Razia Sultana Jenny and directed by Salauddin Lavlu.

Humayun Ahmed’s breakthrough was his debut novel ‘Nondito Noroke,’ published in 1972. He wrote over 200 fiction and non-fiction books. He was one of the most popular authors and filmmakers in post-independence Bangladesh. 

He earned accolades such as the Bangla Academy Award, Lekhak Shibir Award, Shishu Academy Award, Michael Madhusudan Padak, Bachsas Award, and numerous others, recognising his remarkable contributions to the Bengali culture and entertainment realm during his illustrious career.

Additionally, he was honoured with seven Bangladesh National Film Awards across various categories for his involvement in films such as 'Shonkhonil Karagar' (as a screenwriter), 'Aguner Poroshmoni,' 'Daruchini Dwip,' and 'Ghetuputra Komola.'
