Notre Dame University gets new treasurer

President of Bangladesh has appointed Father Adam S. Perera, Registrar of the University and former Chairman of the English Department, as the Treasurer of Notre Dame University Bangladesh. This information was given through a circular signed by Shamima Begum, Joint Secretary (Additional Duties) on 30 November 2021 by order of the President.

It is mentioned that with the approval of the President and Chancellor, the current Registrar of the University, Father Adam S. Perera, CSC has been appointed as Treasurer in accordance with Section 33 (1) of the Private Universities Act, 2010. The term of his appointment as Treasurer shall be 4 years from the date of joining.

"I have been involved with the university from the beginning," said Father Adam S. Pereira, who was immediately moved by the letter. I'm glad to have this responsibility. I believe that with the cooperation of all, I can contribute to the development of the university.

Incidentally, on February 4, 2021, the Treasurer of the University, Father Joseph S. Pishoto, CSC passed away due to old age.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Father Patrick Daniel Gaffney, CSC, said that Father Adam has been serving as the Registrar of the University with integrity and efficiency since its inception. As Treasurer, I wish him success and good health.

Note that Father Adam S, Perera, CSC St. Joseph Primary School, Dharea, Primary Education from Savar, SSC from Savar Adhar Chandra Multipurpose High School, Notre Dame College, HSC from Dhaka, B.Sc. from the same college under Dhaka University. He holds a Master of Science degree in Philosophy and Theology from the Holy Spirit National High Seminary, de la Sal University, Manila, Philippines, and later a Masters Degree in English Literature. He is currently pursuing PhD research at Martin Luther's Christian University, Shillong, India.
