Nothing to worry about Coronavirus

Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Anwar Hossain said there is nothing to be worried about corona virus for people in the warmest regions including Bangladesh.

The outbreak of the virus will not occur in the country due to climate and climatic conditions. When the month of February is gone, the heat will start. Then there will be no fear of the people of this country. He said these while addressing as the chief guest to new comers and farewell ceremony for Microbiology department students which organized by the Department of Microbiology at the gallery of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Academic Building on Saturday afternoon.  

VC Anwar Hossain said, "You may know that the coronavirus spreads in China is the weakest virus in the corona group." But China is the second largest economy in the world.

Therefore, China being infected with the virus has affected the economy of the world. However, as I am a microbiologist, I think, it will not take the form of an epidemic, even though it is possible for others to be infected by people visiting China. He told the outgoing students of the Department of Microbiology that the relationship with the university never ends. This university cherished you, now you will cherish the university. You must fulfill the responsibilities of family, society and state. Only then is our worthiness. 

Speaking to the newcomer students, the Vice Chancellor said that the laboratory facilities of microbiology of JUST, do not have many large universities in the country. So you have to take regular classes and labs. Then you will be connected to the study. Seniors and juniors will have a good relationship, no ragging. Just as the elders will love the younger, love them with kindness; the younger ones also have to respect the elders. 

Chairman of the Department of Microbiology Dr. Md. Iqbal Kabir Zahid presided over the discussion meeting while the convenor of the Deans committee Dr. Md. Anishur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Microbiology and Technology Dr. Kishore Majumdar, teachers of the Department of Microbiology Dr. Tanvir Islam, Dr. Selina Akhter, Prabhas Chandra Roy, Nigar Sultana Meghla were spoke among others in the ceremony .

The programmes were presented by Abdullah Al Tariq and Tamanna Jerin Ananna, students of the Department of Microbiology.

An interesting cultural event was held in the afternoon with the participation of students of the Department of Microbiology.
