Rajshahi Division is on the brink of being entirely free from landless and homeless families. Sixty-six of its 68 upazilas have already achieved this status, with the remaining two set to be declared landless and homeless-free by June 10-11, according to Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Dr. Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir.
He shared this news at a press conference held in the Divisional Commissioner’s Conference Room on Thursday morning.
Dr. Kabir reported that under the Ashrayan-2 Project, 66 upazilas in Rajshahi have been declared "free from landless and homeless (Ka Class)" through various government rehabilitation programs. On June 10, Sherpur in Bogura district and Chowhali in Sirajganj district will join the list of upazilas free from landless and homeless families.
Additionally, Dr. Kabir announced that the Land Service Week in Rajshahi will kick off on Saturday with a public awareness meeting at the Boalia Land Office. The meeting will cover various initiatives, including the Smart Land Service of the Land Ministry, future land management, and citizen information services.
