Schoolgirl Tasnia Hossain Adita (14) in Noakhali, her classmates held a protest and mourning rally demanding justice for the murder. Students, teachers and parents of various educational institutions including Noakhali Government Girls High School, Noakhali District School participated in the rally.
On Saturday from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, they held the protest program in front of Noakhali Press Club, District Commissioner, Police Superintendent's office and Sudharam Model Police Station. Earlier on Friday evening, after the 3-day remand of main accused Roni was granted, he was taken into police custody and questioned.
A protest rally took place in front of Aditar School on Saturday afternoon and first took a position in front of Noakhali Press Club. Periodically, separate rallies from other educational institutions came and met at the place. Later, a huge rally involving teachers, students and parents took place around the main road of the city. His classmates from the rally demanded maximum punishment for the accused in Adita's murder.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Akramul Hasan said that 2 of the 4 arrested persons have been arrested. Among them, the main accused Roni has been remanded for three days. Incidentally, the police recovered Adita's body with her arms, legs and throat cut from a room of Jahan Manzil in Laxminarayanpur area of Noakhali Municipality at around 9:30 pm last Thursday.
The police raided the area and arrested 4 people. Out of which two have been arrested in a case filed by the student's mother. Out of which Roni is on remand for 3 days.
