Noakhali Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dewan Mahbubur Rahman's official mobile number (01713121154) was cloned or spoofed and an insidious group is demanding money from various people's representatives, government offices and the general public. They have also been given a development number to send the claimed money.
Confirming the matter, Deputy Commissioner Dewan Mahbubur Rahman said on Monday afternoon that a complaint had been lodged with the police against the development number given to the fraudsters in the incident. The district superintendent of police has been informed to take appropriate action. The deputy commissioner said Sadar Upazila Parishad chairman Samsuddin Jehan, Sonaimuri Upazila Parishad chairman Ruhul Amin Khandaker and Chaumuhani municipality mayor Khaled Saifullah called me around 12 noon on Monday. They said that money was demanded from them from the mobile number I used and they were also given a number to send the money through the development of mobile banking.
