No room for drug addicts in police: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed has emphatically warned again that there is no room for any drug addict in the police force.

'We are determined that is why we want to clarify it to all', said the IGP in answer to a query of the journalists during the inaugural function of the Apps of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) headquarters at C&B intersection in the city on Sunday.

IGP Benazir Ahmed formally inaugurated the 'Operation Control and Monitoring Centre including the Juvenile Gang Digital Data Base and the Apps of Hello RMP' as the chief guest. 

Talking over the Charge sheet of the case of Major Sinha Murder case submitted to the court recently, IGP said,' This sensation case is now under trial in the court that is why I do not like to pass any comment of the issue.'  

He further said,' the government is working to build Sonar Bangla as envisioned by the Best Bangalee of thousands of years, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Proper application of creative technology and its timely use can ensure socio-economic development and prosperity of Bangladesh. Aiming at the target, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has presented the great charter 'Rupkalpa 2041' where a farsighted programme of establishing 'Digital Bangladesh' has been included. As a part of the programme, the new Apps on Identifying the crime and criminals, containing of crime and ensuing of security of people' is being inaugurated in Rajshahi Metropolitan areas.' 

The Apps inaugural function was attended, among others, by RMP Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique, DIG of Rajshahi Range Abdul Baten and Senior Police Officials of RMP and Rajshahi Range.  

The Apps was inaugurated to control law and order situation under RMP. Important places and crossings of Rajshahi city will be monitored round the clock through the CC cameras under Operation Control and Monitoring Centre of RMP.

Through the Apps, the movement of suspected people and the criminals will be monitored and identified within a short time. 

The 'Juvenile Gang Digital Database' has already been made where the information of some 400 juvenile gangs has been included in the digital Database and sending of any information and filing of any complaint may now be submitted online through ' Hell RMP Apps'. 

Various services of Police including Police clearance certificate, Online GD and National Emergency Service of 999 have been included in the Apps.

Phone and mobile phone numbers and the e-mails of all police officials of RMP will be available from the Apps. The Web portal and the Online News Portals of RMP will also be seen through using the Apps
