There is no respite in the death toll and infection from the Coronavirus in Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj districts. During the last one week (from June-1 morning to June-8 morning), a total of 72 patients being attacked with Coronavirus or with the symptoms of the virus died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Of the dead, 36 are from Chapainawabganj and 23 are from Rajshahi district, the rest are from other districts. Of these 72 deaths, 45 were tested Corona positive while others died with the symptom of Coronavirus.
Dr. Saiful Ferdous, Deputy Director of RMCH informed, among 72 deaths at the Corona units of the hospital during last one week, seven each died on June 1 and 2, nine died on June-3, 16 died on June-4, eight died on June-5, six died on June-6, 11 died on June-7 and eight died till 6-00 AM of June-8.
The rate of death due to Coronavirus infection is 60.70 percent in Chapainawabganj and 32.39 percent in Rajshahi district. Most of the Coronavirus patients of Chapainawabganj are bearing the Indian variant of Covid-19 and the death rate in Coronavirus attack is also higher in that district, Dr. Saiful Ferdous added.
Meanwhile, eight more patients by being attacked with Coronavirus and the symptoms of Coronavirus died at the Corona units of RMCH during the last 24-hour. Of them, two from Chapainawabganj and one from Rajshahi died with Corona positive while rest five from Rajshahi, Chapainwabganj and Pabna died with Coronavirus symptoms while 33 new patients have been admitted to the Corona units of the hospital during last 24-hour. Of the admitted patients 16 are from Rajshahi, 14 from Chapainawabganj, two from Natore and one from Naogaon district. Till 6-00 AM on Tuesday, 257 patients were taking treatment at the Corona units of RMCH. Of these 127 were from Rajshahi, 102 from Chapainawabganj, 11 from Natore, nine from Naogaon, four from Pabna, three from Kushtia and one from Joypurhat districts. 17 patients have been admitted to ICUs of the hospital. Of the total admitted patients, 125 tested Corona positive while the samples have been collected from rest of the patients and sent for testing to the laboratories.
On the other hand, the rate of infection in Coronavirus has further increased in Rajshahi. On Monday samples of 386 patients were tested and results of 174 tested positive. The test result shows, the infection of Coronavirus has been increased by 3.77 percent than that of the previous day totalling the rate of Corona identification at 45.07 percent(Monday) which was 41.29 percent on Sunday.
However, an indefinite lockdown is being observed in Rajshahi to check the increase of Coronavirus infection in Rajshahi. Rajsahi district administration has imposed the lockdown from 5 pm (afternoon) to 6 am (morning daily). Six mobile courts are in operation in Rajshahi to ensure that the lockdown is being followed by the people of the district properly.
