Dhaka experienced a fair amount of sunlight on Saturday morning after two days of bone-chilling cold accompanied by rain.
However, according to the weather forecast, another cold wave is likely to grip the country soon.
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department for the next 24 hours from Saturday, the night temperature may drop by 2-3 degrees Celsius across the country. However, the daytime temperature may increase by 1-2 degrees Celsius. Mild cold wave may sweep over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions.
It further informed that light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusts may occur at one or two places in Chattogram, Rangpur and Sylhet divisions. The weather will remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies elsewhere in the country.
There will be moderate to heavy fog in the northwestern part of the country and river basins and light to moderate fog elsewhere in the country.
The Meteorological Department said that the increase in western light pressure is located in the foothills of the Himalayas in West Bengal and adjoining areas. The extension of the sub continental high pressure zone is located in Bihar and adjoining areas. The normal light pressure of the season is located in the South Bay.
