No problem in payment of salary, bonus to workers before Eid: Ctg industrial police

There will be no possible problem regarding the timely payment of salary-bonus and other outstanding dues of the workers of industries and factories under the jurisdiction of Chattogram Industrial Police during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, said Mohammad Sulaiman, superintendent of Chattogram Industrial Police (Additional DIG).

“We have discussed the matter with all concerned, including factory owners, BGMEA and BKMEA. Efforts are being made so that the workers can celebrate Eid happily with their salaries and allowances,” he said.

He said this at a press conference organised by industry and police in Kalurghat area under Chandgaon Police Station on Wednesday morning.  Additional Superintendent of Industrial Police Nadira Noor and Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Jasim Uddin, among others, were present.

According to Chattogram Industrial Police sources, 6,16,520 workers are working in a total of 1,468 industrial establishments in Chattogram.

During the exchange of views, the owners said before Eid-ul-Azha, the salary-bonuses and other allowances and holidays of the industrial workers will be paid by June 15.

The Superintendent of Industrial Police said, “We have already discussed the issue with the management and owners of some factories and solved the problem. All the owners and workers of Chittagong region will show responsible behaviour and cooperative attitude and there will be no problem with salary, bonus and Eid leave of industrial workers in Chittagong region on Eid-ul-Azha like the Eid-ul-Fitr.”
