Primary Education Completion (PEC), Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations will not be taken centrally this year. However, these examinations or assessments will be conducted like the annual examinations of regular classes.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni made remarks at a tree plantation event in Ganabhaban Government High School on Tuesday on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's birthday.
“I don't think there is an opportunity to take PEC, JSC, JDC examinations. Students of these classes will be assessed like other classes,” she said.
Earlier on Tuesday, at a different programme at the Dhaka Mohila Polytechnic Institute, she said, “The Ministry of Education has already published routines of SSC and HSC examination. These examinations will be held in due time.”
“We have taken all the preparations. We hope all the tests will be conducted timely,” she added.
Secretary of the Department of Technical and Madrasa Education Amirul Islam Khan, Director General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Syed Md Golam Faruk and other government officials were present among others at the tree plantation events.
It was not possible to take the PEC, JSC, JDC and HSC examinations of 2020 as the educational institutions were closed from March 17, 2020 due to coronavirus outbreak. Those examinees were assessed on the basis of their previous public examination performances.
However, the routines of SSC and HSC examinations were published on September 27. According to those, SSC examinations are scheduled to begin on November 14 and HSC examination on December 2.
